Personal Statement:
Rosario has been working as a bilingual Infant Toddler Child Care Specialist for Illinois Action for Children (IAFC) for over five years, beginning with IAFC?s pilot program in 2009. Rosario has trained and educated home-based and center-based providers in brain development, social-emotional development, early learning and the significance of relationships in children?s learning. Rosario is an INCCRRA ITN Trainer and has been training child care providers in the PITC (The Program for Infant and toddler Care) curriculum since 2010. Rosario?s passion for making a difference in the field of early childhood education has prepared her professionally to better serve child care providers who need support in providing quality child care in infant and toddler settings. For seven years Rosario worked as a parent educator in the Chicago Public Schools and in Niles public schools using the Learning Basket Curriculum (focusing on birth-three child development). In this role, she facilitated parent groups that encouraged participants to share parenting experiences; discuss and practice newly learned concepts and reflect on application of those concepts. Rosario has presented at the annual NAEYC conference (2010), at Oakton Community College?s Annual Infant and Toddler Conference (2012), and at the Illinois AEYC Conference (September 2012). Additionally, she is a member of the Baby TALK Professional Association.
