- As an educator with over 35 years of service, I continue to believe that learning is a social process and that we all teach and learn from each other. True learning results in a qualitative change in people and learning theories must be connected to real practice. The Environment Rating Scale (ERS) is a tool to build quality in early learning environments. I have provided independent consultation to child care centers as they work towards the ERS State Assessment process. These experiences help me provide participants with ?lessons learned?. Learning continues for a lifetime and we all have room for improvement!
