- Heidi has been a Registered Nurse for many years. She has worked as a Public Health Nurse for the McLean County Health Department since 1996. In 1998, she started her role as the Child Care Nurse Consultant in connection with the Child Care Resource and Referral Network in SDA 9. Heidi has been a trainer since she entered the field of nursing. Patient/family education, discharge instructions and training new nurses are just some of the training experiences she has provided. Upon beginning her role as a Child Care Nurse Consultant, Heidi became a trainer in the Illinois Trainer?s Network and has maintained her status as an ITN trainer. Heidi?s primary role is to provide health and safety information, training and educational presentations to child care providers, parents with children in child care and children in child care. Heidi enjoys having the opportunity to share her knowledge and to educate on: upcoming trends, new safety standards and staying safe and healthy. Heidi wants people to feel comfortable during trainings and attempts to make everyone feel welcomed and important. She hopes that following her training, people leave having learned something new that they can use in their life. Heidi?s specialty is children?s health and safety
