- Xochitl has 16 years of teaching experience ranging from Preschool through 8th grade. She started out as an aide and has taught in various types of settings from private preschool and Head Start, from infants to pre-teens and in mixed age groups and by grade levels. She currently teaches English Language Learners in a public school in a small group setting and works to bridge the communication between the district and families. She has also been an Illinois Trainers Network trainer for more than 10 years starting with HeadsUp! Reading for both English and Spanish speaking participants. Her philosophy and strong beliefs are reflected when she speaks. She believes that all children can learn though hands-on experiences and that each child has individual needs that need to be considered when teaching.
