Designed for child care center administrators, this session provides an overview of the Program Administration Scale (PAS). The PAS is designed to measure the quality of leadership and management practices of center-based early childhood programs. After completing this training, providers will have a basic knowledge of the PAS, be able to use the tool for program improvement, and know how to prepare for the PAS assessment. This training is required to apply for star levels 3 and 4 of the Quality Counts: Quality Rating System.

How do young children view themselves and their value in the world around them? When children develop in environments that promote a healthy sense of self, they behave in ways that communicate a sense of value and worth. The child's mental wellness determines the success he experiences in his relationships with others and his ability to regulate his emotions in his daily functioning. In this workshop, we will examine the child's individual constitution, the culture in which the child is developing, and the significant relationships the child has with others.
