Training Approval

Training Approval is an important component of the Gateways to Opportunity Registry. The approval process ensures that trainings have been reviewed and meet quality criteria. Training approval is valid for three years. Once a training is approved, it must be scheduled. Scheduling an approved training is what allows it to appear on the Statewide Online Training Calendar (if desired), and more importantly allows participants in that training to receive credit on their Registry Professional Development Record (PDR). There are resources available to assist you in completing your training approval application.

Agencies that have standardized training curriculum are welcome to submit their trainings for Registry approval. For more information about the agency-submitted process, please contact the Learning Advancement Coordinator at INCCRRA via Gateways.

Stages of Training

Stages of Training are a feature unique to the Registry. Rather than categorizing trainings as “beginner,” “intermediate,” and “advanced,” the Registry uses five stages. These stages describe what level of knowledge participants will gain from attending the training. For example, Stage 1 training is focused toward participants developing basic knowledge about the training topic. In contrast, Stage 5 training is focused on participants strengthening and adapting existing skills for more effective application of the training topic.
