This guidance changes the two prior announcements that were made on February 1, 2017 for Child Care Center providers and on March 24, 2017 for Licensed and License Exempt Child Care Home Providers.

View the official Illinois Department of Human Services announcement (announcement in Spanish) that details the training requirements (including ECE Credential Level 1, CPR/First Aid, Mandated Reporter and What is CCAP?) and the deadlines that trainings must be completed.

IDHS released a additional announcement that is being mailed to providers on July 28, 2017 with information for School-Age only providers.  You can also download the announcement included in that mailing in English or Spanish.

September 27, 2017 - IDHS announces receipt of the federal deadline extension!  Read this announcement carefully that details new required training deadlines, and orientation periods for new staff.  Official IDHS Announcement in English and Spanish.

Have questions about the new CCAP training requirements?  Email questions directly to DHS at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Completion of the mandatory training will only be tracked from the Gateways to Opportunity Registry and you will not be required to submit any trainings documents to IDHS or INCCRRA.  IDHS will check the Registry to ensure compliance.  Be sure to self-report your CPR/First Aid certifications and self-report your DCFS Mandated Reporter training.  Keep copies of your current training documents in your file for 5 years. You must be able to produce a copy when requested by IDHS as proof of training completion.
